Egypt Published Law No. 173 of 2020 in the Official Gazette on 16 August 2020 for the introduction of a new tax amnesty scheme. The scheme provides for a reduction of interest and penalties due on taxes due before 17 August 2020 as follows:
- 90% reduction if the principal amount is paid within 60 days from 17 August 2020;
- 70% reduction if the principal amount is paid within 120 days from 17 August 2020;
- 50% reduction if the principal amount is paid within 180 days from 17 August 2020.
