Officials from Estonia and Kazakhstan met on 27 November 2023 to discuss bilateral relations, including the negotiation of a social security agreement and an amending protocol to the 1999 income and capital tax treaty between the two countries. The social security agreement would be the first of its kind between the two countries and the protocol would be the first to amend the treaty. Both must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
