On 11 June 2025, the Estonian parliament approved the Act for the ratification of the pending income tax treaty with Botswana. The treaty, signed 25 September 2024, is the first of its kind between the two countries. It will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply in Botswana from 1 July next following its entry into force and in Estonia from 1 January next following its entry into force.
