Eurasian Economic Union Treaty Including Changes to VAT Tax Rules Signed

On 29 May 2014, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia signed a treaty creating the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). The treaty creates a single market and makes changes to the VAT regime as it applies to the Customs Union of the three countries.

Key VAT changes include:

  • Indirect taxes will not be applied if goods are delivered among subdivisions of a single legal entity that are located in different EEU Member States
