The European Commission Task Force for Relations with the UK has published a presentation dated 14 January 2020 on internal preparatory discussions on the future relationship with the UK. The presentation includes that If the UK withdraws with agreement on 31 January 2020, there is a transition period of 11 months for:
- the adoption of negotiating directives;
- the conduct of negotiations; and
- the signature/conclusion and entry into force of a future agreement by 1 January 2021.
