On 19 June 2020, the European Parliament approved the proposal for the optional postponement of the initial deadlines for DAC6 reportable cross-border arrangements for up to 6 months. Political agreement was reached on the optional postponement earlier in June. With the approval in Parliament, the proposal for the optional postponement must now be adopted by the European Council and published in the Official Journal of the European Union to be formally implemented.
