Finland's Ministry of Finance has announced that it has begun drafting legislation for the introduction of a tourist tax. As proposed, the tax would be optional for municipalities to implement in order to generate additional revenue from tourism. The tax would apply to all forms of short-term, paid accommodation for both domestic and international travelers, with the rate determined as a percentage of the accommodation price.
