According to recent reports, the parliaments of four EU Member States have submitted formal objections to the European Commission's proposals to tax the digital economy. The proposals, issued 21 March 2018 ({News-2018-03-22/P/2-previous coverage}), include a common reform of the EU's corporate tax rules to provide for the taxation of the profits of a company, even if it has no physical presence, and an interim tax at the rate of 3% on certain revenue from digital activities.
