On 18 December 2017, the French National Assembly approved for ratification the pending protocol to the 1980 social security agreement with Algeria. The protocol, signed 10 April 2016, is the first to amend the agreement and will enter into force and effect on the first day of the second month after the ratification instruments are exchanged.
