The French National Assembly has reportedly rejected amendments to the 2022 Finance Act that would introduce a windfall profits tax on companies in the energy and freight transport sectors. The tax was proposed to be levied at a rate of 25% on the surplus profits of companies in these sectors in 2022 and 2023.
