On 15 October 2014, the German Federal Cabinet approved the maximum income basis for social security contributions for 2015, which must now be approved by the Federal Council.
The annual maximum income basis for western Federal States (Old States) will be €72,600, and €62,400 for the eastern Federal States (New States).
