Germany has published the Law on the implementation of the 2030 climate protection program, which includes certain tax measures. One of the main measures is a reduction in the VAT rate on rail tickets from 19% to 7% from 1 January 2020, along with an increase in air traffic tax from 1 April 2020. Measures are also included for a tax deduction for energy-efficient upgrades for owner-occupied residential property and an increase in the commuter tax allowance.
