Officials from Germany and Montenegro met from 7 to 11 October 2024 for the first round of negotiations for an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would need to be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force and, once in force and effective, would replace the 1987 tax treaty between Germany and the former Yugoslavia as it applies with respect to Germany and Montenegro.
