Greece Planning Several Tax Cuts

On 8 September 2018, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras announced plans for several tax cuts in the coming years, including:

  • A reduction of the corporate tax rate from 29% to 25% over a four-year period;
  • A reduction in the standard VAT rate from 24% to 22% and a reduction in the reduced rate from 13% to 12% in 2021;
  • A reduction in the unified property tax (ENFIA) by 30% to 50% in phases in 2019 and 2020; and
