On 11 June 2021, officials from Greece and North Macedonia met to discuss economic cooperation, including the signing of an income tax treaty. According to a release from the North Macedonia Ministry of Finance, negotiations are ongoing with the two sides reviewing draft treaty versions exchanged earlier this year. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
