The Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department has issued a release announcing the passage of Inland Revenue (Amendment) (Tax Concessions) Bill 2019 by the Legislative Council on 6 November 2019. The main measures are for the reduction in the salaries tax, tax under personal assessment and profits tax for the Year of Assessment 2018/19 as proposed in the 2019-20 Budget, but with a 100% reduction of tax, subject to a ceiling of HKD 20,000 per case, instead of the 75% reduction originally proposed.
