According to a release from the Hong Kong government, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Christopher Hui, welcomed Slovenia’s recognition of the benefits of an income tax treaty with Hong Kong during his state visit on 22 September 2025. Secretary Hui first proposed a treaty in June 2025. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
