On 13 July 2018, the Hong Kong Government announced the publication of the Inland Revenue (Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters) Order in the Official Gazette, which provides for the implementation of the Convention as extended to Hong Kong by China's Central People's Government. The Convention will enter into force in Hong Kong on 1 September 2018 and will generally apply from 1 January 2019.
