According to an update from the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department, officials from Hong Kong and Kyrgyzstan are meeting from 15 to 17 January 2025 for the second round of negotiations for an income tax treaty. The first round of negotiations was held in January 2022. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two jurisdictions and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
