On 17 June 2022, Hungary announced its opposition to the implementation of the Pillar 2 global minimum tax in the EU. Aside from Poland, all Member States had supported the proposed implementation of the global minimum tax during a meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) in April 2022.
