The Government of Iceland has announced the approval of temporary economic measures to curb inflation. This includes, among other things, a reduction in the VAT rate on "fuel from the pump" (gasoline and diesel) from 24% to 11% from 1 May to 31 August 2026. A bill for the reduction must now be approved by the parliament.
