According to an update from New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, officials from Iceland and New Zealand held a second round of negotiations for an income tax treaty in February 2025. The first round of negotiations was held in December 2018. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
