In November 2006, HMRC issued a consultation paper seeking views on the UK government's plans to implement the provisions of the amended Merger Directive 90/434/EEC (Directive 90/434/EEC as amended by Directive 2005/19/EC). The proposals include draft legislation which the government intends to include in the Finance Bill 2007.
