On 30 September 2020, India's Central Board of Direct Taxes published an Order under Section 119(2)(a) of the Income-tax Act that provides a further extension of the deadline for the submission of income tax returns for the 2019-20 assessment year, considering difficulties faced by taxpayers due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Previously extended to 30 September 2020, the deadline is now extended to 30 November 2020.
