On 3 August 2021, Indonesia's Ministry of Finance announced that VAT relief is being provided to support the retail sector considering the negative impact of lockdowns for COVID-19. This includes relief from the 10% VAT payable on retail rentals (leases), which will be borne by the government for the three-month period August to October 2021. The VAT relief is provided through Regulation No. 102/PMK.010/2021.
