On 12 April 2022, the Iraq Council of Ministers authorized the negotiation and signing of income tax treaties with Pakistan, Qatar, Romania, and the Slovak Republic. Any resulting treaties would be the first of their kind between Iraq and the respective countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
