On 22 December 2020, Iraq's Council of Ministers reportedly authorized the Ministry of Finance to negotiate and sign an income tax treaty with Lebanon. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
