On 14 June 2017, Italy published Law No. 84 of 16 May in the Official Gazette, which provides for the ratification of the pending income tax treaty with Barbados. The treaty, signed 24 August 2015, is the first of its kind between the two countries. It will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged, and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force ({News-2015-12-18/T/4- previous coverage}).
