On 3 August 2020, Italy published Law No 89 of 17 July 2020 in the Official Gazette, which provides for the ratification of the pending income tax treaty with Uruguay. The treaty, signed 1 March 2019, is the first of its kind between the two countries and will enter into force once the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
