Italy's Ministry of Economy and Finance has issued a release announcing an exchange of letters with San Marino concerning electronic invoicing. This includes that a cross-border system will be fully operational from 1 July 2022 that allows qualifying operators in Italy and San Marino to issue electronic invoices, with a transitional period from 1 October 2021 to 30 June 2022, during which operators will be able to opt for electronic invoicing instead of paper invoicing.
