Japan's Ministry of Finance announced on 6 September 2019 that officials from Japan and Peru have agreed in principle on an income tax treaty. The treaty will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be signed and ratified before entering into force. The signing will take place after the necessary internal procedures have been completed by the governments of each country.
