According to a recent release from Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from Japan and Thailand met on 30 May 2025 to discuss bilateral relations, including their commitment to advance negotiations on a social security agreement. The agreement will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
