According to a release from Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from Japan and Turkey met on 16 January 2024 and agreed to work together towards the early conclusion of negotiations on a Social Security Agreement. The agreement will be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
