On 9 April 2024, Japan's House of Representatives (lower house of parliament) approved the pending income tax treaty with Greece. The treaty, signed 1 November 2023, is the first of its kind between the two countries. It will enter into force 30 days after the ratification instruments are exchanged and will apply from 1 January of the year following its entry into force.
