On 10 March 2022, Kazakhstan President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev signed the law for the ratification of the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the U.S. for the implementation of FATCA. The IGA was signed on 11 September 2017, and although the ratification procedures have only recently been completed, Kazakhstan is treated as having an IGA in effect with the U.S. from 30 November 2014.
