Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev authorized the signature of the protocol to the tax treaty between his country and the Czech Republic on March 27th, 2014. The protocol was approved by the Czech Republic on October 16th, 2013.
The protocol had been under negotiations since 2008 and amends the exchange of information article to bring it line with OECD Standards.
