On 23 August 2018, officials from Kazakhstan and South Korea reportedly met and agreed to the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on mutual cooperation on tax information exchange. The MOU is to provide the framework for the handling of the expected increase in tax disputes resulting from increased bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.
