According to a release from Latvia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials from Indonesia and Latvia met on 5 September 2024. During the meeting, Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže noted Latvia's interest in signing an income tax treaty. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
