Liechtenstein Removed from Kazakhstan's List of Jurisdictions with a Preferential Tax Regime

According to a release from the Liechtenstein government, Kazakhstan has removed Liechtenstein from its list of jurisdictions with a preferential tax regime (tax havens) with effect from 16 October 2020. The list is important in relation to certain tax matters, including Kazakhstan's CFC rules. Where ownership conditions are met, a foreign company will generally be considered a CFC if its effective tax rate is less than 10% or the company is established in a listed jurisdiction.
