On 27 July 2018, the Luxembourg parliament approved Bill No. 7208 to transpose Council Directive (EU) 2016/2258 of 6 December 2016 into domestic law. The Directive amended the administrative cooperation Directive (Directive 2011/16/EU) with respect to tax authority access to beneficial ownership information in the EU. EU Member States were to have transposed Council Directive (EU) 2016/2258 by 31 December 2017 and apply the measures from 1 January 2018.
