On 26 November 2018, Macau published Chief Executive Notice No. 60/2018 in the Official Gazette on the ratification of the pending protocol to the 1999 income tax treaty with Portugal. The protocol, signed 21 June 2018, is the first to amend the treaty and replaces Article 26 (Exchange of Information) to bring it in line with OECD standard for information exchange. It also inserts Article (26a), which includes provisions on the use and transfer of personal data.
