On 1 September 2022, Malaysia published the Income Tax (Agreement Between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the United States of America to Improve International Tax Compliance and to Implement the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) Order 2022, which provides for the ratification of the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) signed with the U.S. on 21 July 2021 for the implementation of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA).
