According to a release from the OECD, Mali has joined the international fight against tax evasion by becoming the 161st member of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes. As a member of the Forum, Mali has committed to implementing the internationally agreed standards of transparency and exchange of information for tax purposes and will be subject to monitoring and a peer-review process to ensure implementation and compliance.
