Malta has published Legal Notice No. 186 in the Official Gazette, which contains the Value Added Tax Act (Eighth Schedule) (Amendment) Regulations, 2020. The Regulations provide for the extension of the 5% reduced VAT rate to protective face masks and visors, excluding diving equipment.
The Regulations entered into force on 4 May 2020.
