On 8 August 2014, Malta published Legal Notice 270 in the Official Gazette which implements a new program for individual taxpayers, The Residence Program Rules (TRP). TRP rules applies for individual taxpayers, including nationals of EEA countries and Swiss nationals that meet certain qualifying conditions. The TRP rules amend the previous High Net Worth Individuals rules and apply retroactively from 1 July 2013.
