Maryland General Assembly Approves Legislation for Introduction of Digital Advertising Tax and Sales Tax on Digital Products

On 18 March 2020, the General Assembly (legislature) of the U.S. State of Maryland approved House Bills H.B. 732 and H.B. 932, which enable the taxation of digital advertising and products.

Bill H.B. 732 provides for the introduction of a tax on digital advertising, which would be the first such tax introduced by any U.S. State.
