Officials from Moldova and Russia began negotiations on 26 October 2020 for an administrative agreement for the implementation of a social security agreement between the two countries, which is currently pending signature. The agreements must be signed and ratified before entering into force and, once in force and effective, will replace the 1995 agreement between the two countries.
