On 5 June 2025, the Montenegro government published its conclusions approving a proposal for the negotiation of an income and capital tax treaty with Iceland, along with the designated members of the delegation for conducting the negotiations. Any resulting treaty would be the first of its kind between the two countries and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
