On 20 September 2018, the Nepal Cabinet established a committee to begin the process of negotiating an income tax treaty with the United Kingdom. The committee will work toward the negotiation of income tax treaties with other countries as well. Any resulting treaty with the UK would be the first of its kind between the two countries, and must be finalized, signed, and ratified before entering into force.
