New US model tax treaty expected in 2006

At a seminar held in Washington DC on 11 July 2006, an attorney-advisor from the US Treasury Department's Office of International Tax Counsel announced that the new US model tax treaty would be released sometime in 2006. The new US model tax treaty would replace the US Model Tax Treaty dated 20 September 1996.
